ZION MINISTRIES

Sunday mornings 10am - 12 pm

Freedom Nights - Sunday evenings 7pm

The Spirit of the Lord anointed Jesus "to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed; to proclaim the year of the Lord's favour," Luke 4:18-19

As followers of Jesus we follow where He leads.

OUR VISION

Zion ministry was founded on the revelation that we are His living temples and He chooses to dwell amongst us.  He calls us His sons and daughters of Zion.  He calls the remnants of faith to Himself where He shows us His splendor.

Our VISION is to grow in the love that heals the brokenhearted, in our identity that can not be shaken, in the a knowledge that we belong to a family so vast it transcends time and distance, with a deep purpose that goes beyond ourselves.

WHAT WE DO

The Zion family gathers weekly together for one reason: to host the Lord.  We welcome Him and He comes.  We teach His Word, and worship Him in Spirit and in Truth.

As we seek His face the things of earth grow strangely dim and He transforms our lives.

"You shall love the Lord you God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind." Matthew 22:37

OUR COMMUNITY

We are a small community of believers in the large body of Christ.  Our desire is to have our church family be transformed by the Holy Spirit every time we come together.  We are forever changed by the Father's grace and mercy.

We value connecting, sharing and breaking bread with one another. Everyone is welcome to stay after worship and prayer on Sunday morning's for hot  soup, fresh buns and family time.

A Message from our Pastor

Zion Ministries was birthed out of obedience to Jesus' calling and what He wants to do here in Centre Wellington and across the nations.    Jesus wants to raise up a people that love Him.  A beautiful bride preparing for His return.  Will Feenstra is the Pastor at Zion Ministries.  The Holy Spirit laid it on his heart to empower and equip young people to follow the Lord with all their heart 23 years ago.   He has been a Discipleship Counsellor for the last 7 years, passionately helping people of all ages regain their sight of who God is.

                 ~ Father, Jesus and Holy Spirit~

In John 4:23,24, as Jesus is talking to the Samaritan woman He says, “The hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship Him.  God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”  A couple of chapters later in John 16:12-15, Jesus promises the gift of the Holy Spirit.  “I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now.  When the Spirit of truth comes He will guide you into all the truth, for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak, and He will declare to you the things that are to come.  He will glorify Me, for He will take what is mine and declare it to you. All that the Father has is mine; therefore I said that He will take what is mine and declare it to you.”   At Zion Ministries we seek to worship God in spirit and in truth.  We focus on the word of God and rely on the Spirit of God to help us know God intimately and to communicate with Him through prayer.  As we learn about God, we gain a deeper appreciation and a greater love for who He is and what He has done for us.  In worship, we are able to express our deep gratitude and our love for Him, by pouring our oil at His feet.

Our life for His glory!

Freedom Nights

Sunday Nights 7pm

"For freedom Christ has set us free" Galatians 5:1.  Christ died that we may be free from the burden of sin.  It no longer has a grip on us.  Therefore we can enter His gates with thanksgiving, and enter His courts with praise for such a precious gift.  We come together for one reason, to be with Him.  Chains are broken as we lay down our pride and ask for prayer.  We stand in unity as we pray over one another with the authority given to us by Jesus Christ.  With the compassion and love of Jesus and the power of the Holy Spirit we minister to each other. It is a ministry of joy and freedom.

What is the Heart of  Worship?

"one thing is needed...." Luke 10:42

We enter His gates with thanksgiving and enter His courts with praise.  When we worship we are in the throne room of Heaven.  We get the privilege to sing with the angels "Holy, Holy are you Lord."  Our praise becomes the fragrant oil that fills the room, giving way for His Spirit to touch our hearts. When we realize it is only by Jesus' death and resurrection that we can stand before the Father.  When we remember the cost He paid to reconcile us back to life.  We just want to sit at His feet and are filled with gratitude.  "Then Mary took a pound of very costly oil of spikenard, anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped His feet with her hair.  And the house was filled with the fragrance of the oil." John 12:3 Like Mary out of pure thankfulness poured her oil, her most precious offering of everything she held dear out onto Jesus' feet.  May we also pour out of us such an offering.  Be completely undone by His love and mercy.  May our worship be a sweet fragrant oil that touches His heart.  As we build the altar to Him in our lives,  The stones represent His faithfulness.  What He has all done.  We then pour our oil onto that altar.  His all consuming fire falls and is ignited and consumes what we lay down.  A glorious light is produce in our lives.  "Arise, shine; For Your light has come!  And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you."  Isaiah 60:1

Why do we Pray?

"My house will be called a  house of prayer."  Matthew 21:12-13 We believe that prayer is the foundation of the ministry.  We seek the Lord's guidance in all things, covering one another in prayer.   A Ministry of bended knees is to acknowledge the sovereignty of God and yet we are welcomed by Him to ask, seek, knock.  "Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them."  Mark 11:24 Prayer is the communication between us and the Father, Jesus and the Holy Spirit.  Jesus devoted Himself to living a life of prayer.  He would go off to be alone with the Father.  To seek counsel, to seek rest.    The word is very clear that we are to spend time in prayer especially in our own quiet places as well as together as a body.   We pray in the Spirit.  We believe in the gift of tongues that is available to all believers.  These prayers are powerful and can be a mighty tool to tear down the enemy's strongholds.   We pray scripture.  We speak the Word of God in our prayers which carries the authority of Jesus.  "Whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son." John 14:13

The Bible/The Word

  • The Bible is the word of God.  It is complete and without flaw and cannot have anything added or taken away from it.   The Bible is alive and active and teaches us how to live and is a lamp for our feet and a light on our path, as it is explained to us by the Holy Spirit.  The word is the absolute truth as is it authored by God through His Spirit to man.   The word has the power to convict us of sin, to teach us truth and to lead us in righteousness.

       Deuteronomy 4:1,2;  Psalms 119:105;  Isaiah 40:8;  2 Tim 3:16;  Hebrews 4:12

God

  • God has always existed in three equal persons, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.  He spoke this world into existence and is ruler over all things.  God is truth and cannot lie.  God is holy, just and worthy of all our praise.

       Genesis 1;  Leviticus 19:2;  Ps 11:4;   Isaiah 40:28,29;  Acts 17:28;  1 Corinthians 11:3

Father

  • God has revealed Himself in scripture as a just God and a loving Father.  He sent His only begotten son into the world, to be condemned by the world, to free all those who would believe in Jesus.  God the Father has transferred all who believe in Jesus from the domain of darkness into the kingdom of Jesus.

       Ephesians 1:19,20;  Colossians 1:13,14

Jesus

  • Jesus is the only begotten son of God the Father, the expressed image of God, the firstborn over all creation.  Jesus existed with the Father and the Spirit before creation but took on human form when He was miraculously conceived by the Holy Spirit through the virgin Mary.  He lived a perfect life and was crucified in our stead on a cross to take away the Sin of the world.   His death paid for the freedom of all who place their faith in Him.  At the moment of Faith, Jesus enters into the believer with His Spirit, and the believer enters into Jesus.  Jesus is the way the truth and the life and the only way to get to the Father is to be IN Jesus.  Jesus is the Head of the church, the Light of the world and the Shepherd of the sheep.

       Isaiah 61:1-3;  John 1:14;  John 3:16-21;  John 5:25-29;  John 10:7-11;  John 12:20-26;  John 14:6-9; Ephesians 2:6;

       Colossians 1:15-23;  Colossians 2:6-15;  John 4:9

Holy Spirit

  • The Holy Spirit is a gift to every believer sent from the Father and the Son.  The Holy Spirit guides believers in all truth as He speaks the words of God to us.  The Holy Spirit convicts the world of sin and helps the believer in their weaknesses and comforts them in their sorrow. He is the teacher and intercedes for the believer.   The Holy Spirit is our guarantee that we are God’s children and He is the power by which we put to death the deeds of the body.

       Isaiah 61:1-3;  Joel 2:28.29;  Mark 1:10;  Luke 1:35;  Luke 11:13;  Luke 12:12;  John 15:26;  John 16:7-8;  John 16:12-15;  Acts 1:8;

       â€‹â€‹Acts 2:1-4;  Acts 10:48;  Acts 13:2;  Romans 5:3-5;  Romans 8:9-11;  Romans 8:13-17;  Romans 8:26-27;  1 Corinthians 3:16;

       Ephesians 1:13,14;  Revelation 22:17

Baptism

  • Baptism is a request to God for a clear conscience.  It is an outward expression of an inward experience of all that took place at the moment of faith.  Jesus commands that all those who place their faith in Him should get baptized.  The disciples did this by full immersion in the name of Jesus Christ, the only name given under heaven by which we are saved.  Baptism represents the death and burial of the old life and the Resurrection of the new life, Christ IN me.

       Matt 3:11;  Matt 3:16;  Matt 28:19;  Mark 16:16;  Acts 2:37-41;  Acts 8:12;  Acts 8:36-38;  Acts 10:44-48;  Acts 16:30-33;  Acts 22:16;         Rom 6:1-4;  Col 2:6-15;  Gal 3:27;  Eph 4:4-6;  1 Peter 3:18-22

The Church

  • The Body of Christ, is made up of many labourers, whose faith is in Jesus and the finished work of the cross.  Jesus Himself is building His church and nothing can stop it.  Jesus is the head of the Church and speaks to the church through His Holy Spirit. The church is the bride of Christ who is being prepared while on earth to meet her groom.

       Matthew 16:15-19;  Acts 2:41;  Acts 14:23;  Acts 20:28;  Romans 12:4,5;  1 Corinthians 7:17;  1 Corinthians 9:13,14;

      1 Corinthians 12:12-31;  Ephesians 1:22,23;  Ephesians 2:11-22;  Ephesians 3:10;  Ephesians 5:22,23;  Colossians 1:18;

      1 Peter 5:1- 4;  Revelations 19:7-9;  Revelations 21:9-11

Salvation

  • When Adam and Eve disobeyed God, they took on Sin, became sinners and as a result, all their offspring were born in sin, separate from God, and in need of a savior.  God the Father, sent His only begotten son into the world to be born as a man by miraculously impregnating the virgin Mary.  Jesus lived a sinless life and gave His life as a ransom for sin on a cross.  All who call upon the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, who place their faith in Jesus as the only sacrifice for their sin, will be saved from eternal punishment.  Those who do not, remain condemned and will spend eternity without God

       Genesis 3:1-24;  Isaiah 59:2;  John 3:18;  John 3:16-18;  Romans 3:10;  Romans 3:21-26;  Romans 5:8,12;  Romans 6:23

Heaven

  • Heaven Is Real and it has a door - Jesus.  There is only One Way to get into Heaven, you must be born again.  You must be IN Christ.  Jesus is the only one who descended from heaven and will ascend into heaven.  All who are IN Him, will be with Him for eternity.

       Genesis 1:1,2;  Jeremiah 23:24;  Jeremiah 32:17;  Psalms 73:25;  Matthew 6:9,10;  Matthew 6:19,20;  Matthew 19:14;

       Luke 24:50,51;  John 3:13;  John 6:51;  John 14:2-4;  Acts 1:10,11;  Acts 2:1,2;  Acts 4:12;  2 Corinthians 5:1;  Philippians 3:20,21;

       Luke 23:43;  2 Peter 3:13;  Hebrews 11:16

Eternity

  • God is not a God of time.  God always was and always will be.  Our life on this earth is short, and once it is over, we will either spend forever with Jesus or away from Jesus.  The Bible teaches that Eternal life is not something, but someone, namely, Jesus.  Jesus is Eternal Life.

       John 3:16;  John 4:14;  John 3:36;  John 10:28-30;  John 17:3;  Romans 6:23;  2 Corinthians 4:17;  Galatians 6:8;  1 John 2:17;

      1 John 5:11;  1 John 5:13;  1 John 5:23;  1 Timothy 1:16;  1 Timothy 6:12

Communion

  • Communion also known as the Lord’s supper was taught by Jesus on the night when He was betrayed when He ate the Passover with them.  He commanded all who believe in Him to eat the bread and drink the cup in remembrance of His death for the forgiveness of our sins.  The bread represents the body of the Lord which was broken and the cup represents His blood which was shed for our restoration to the Father.  No greater demonstration of love has ever been shown on the earth.  It is a command of remembrance from the Lord that we do with deep gratitude.

       Matthew 26:26-29;  Mark 14:22-25;  Luke 22:14-20;  1 Corinthians 10:16,17;  1 Corinthians 11:23-26

Healing

  • Scripture teaches that healing and deliverance from oppression is found in Jesus.  By His stripes we are healed.  All who place their faith in Jesus have access to His healing through the Holy Spirit.  Jesus said that healing and deliverance should be a normality in the lives of those who believe in Him.

       Psalm 103:2-4;  2 Chronicles 7:14;  Isaiah 53:4,5;  Malachi 3:6;  Matthew 4:23;  Matthew 8:16,17;  Matthew 9:35;  Matthew 14:14

       Mark 5:34;  Luke 8:48;  Luke 9:11;  Acts 10:38;  James 5:14,15;  1 Peter 2:24;  Hebrews 13:8
